The Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC) is a Pentecostal Christian denomination established in 1952. It emerged from a merger of several Apostolic Pentecostal organizations and is known for its adherence to the apostolic doctrine, including the practice of baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and the experience of speaking in tongues as evidence of the Holy Spirit’s baptism.
The formation of the ALJC was part of a broader movement within Pentecostalism seeking to consolidate various groups that shared similar beliefs, particularly those related to the Oneness theology. This theological perspective, which is central to the ALJC’s doctrine, emphasizes the belief in the oneness of God as opposed to the traditional Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Adherents believe that God is absolutely and indivisibly one, manifesting Himself as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in regeneration. As a result of this belief, members are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, as opposed to mainstream Trinitarian Christianity, which typically baptizes in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The ALJC upholds a strict moral and ethical code, emphasizing holiness and separation from the world, including specific guidelines on dress, entertainment, and personal conduct. The organizational structure is hierarchical, with local churches governed by pastors and overseen by district and national officials. The denomination is also actively involved in missionary work and operates several Bible colleges and institutes for the training of ministers and lay leaders.

Its international presence is supported by 20 missionaries overseeing works in 17 different nations and regions, including affiliations with numerous indigenous organizations in North America, South America, and Africa.
