Human Design is a comprehensive system of self-discovery and personal growth, combining elements from various ancient and modern disciplines to create a unique tool for understanding oneself. Founded in 1987 by Alan Krakower, who later became known as Ra Uru Hu, Human Design integrates principles from astrology, the Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the Chinese I’Ching, quantum physics, biochemistry, and genetics.
At its core, Human Design offers insights into an individual’s psychological profile, decision-making strategies, personal strengths, and potential challenges, aiming to guide people toward living a life that is more aligned with their true nature. The system is structured around the concept of “Types,” of which there are four main ones: Generators (and Manifesting Generators), Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors. Each type has a unique aura and strategy for navigating life, which, when followed, can lead to fulfillment and a reduction of resistance such as frustration, anger, bitterness, or disappointment.
Generators and Manifesting Generators, which comprise the majority of the population, are the “builders” with sustainable energy when engaged in activities that genuinely interest them. Their strategy is to respond to the world around them, finding satisfaction in following what lights them up.
Manifestors, accounting for about 10% of people, have the ability to initiate and make an impact with their powerful presence. Their strategy is to inform others before taking action, seeking peace through freely rolling out their initiations.
Projectors, making up about 20%, possess a focused aura that allows them to see deeply into others and guide them. They thrive on recognition and invitations, offering wisdom and guidance, and are not designed to have the same consistent energy as Generators or Manifesting Generators.
Reflectors are the rarest, constituting less than 1% of the population, with no consistent inner energy of their own. They mirror the energy of their environment and require a full lunar cycle to make decisions, aiming for a life full of surprises and understanding.
Human Design is empirical and logical, inviting individuals to experiment with its principles to discover their own path to fulfillment. It does not require belief or faith but rather an openness to explore one’s design and see how it can lead to a life of less resistance and more authentic expression.
