A beacon for Tibetan Buddhism’s Dzogchen wisdom, fostering global peace and individual awakening.
The Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation (DSSF) USA, Inc. plays a crucial role in preserving and disseminating the profound teachings of the Dzogchen Lineage, a central tradition within Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in Nevada in 2001 to assist His Eminence Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, the Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to making the ancient wisdom of positive thinking accessible to modern society. Its efforts are grounded in the belief that these teachings can benefit all beings by fostering peace, reducing violence, and promoting harmony across diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds.
The Organization and Its Mission
The Foundation is guided by a mission to preserve, practice, and transmit the Dzogchen tradition, emphasizing the importance of individual happiness and the ultimate goal of Vast Awakening. This is achieved through a series of goals aimed at preserving the unbroken Dzogchen Wisdom Lineage, supporting authentic Dzogchen masters, facilitating the translation of teachings into English, and more. Central to its activities is the establishment of the Dzogchen Retreat Center USA, a hub for practitioners to deepen their understanding and practice.
International Community and Activities
DSSF boasts a vast international community, with hundreds of Dzogchen Dharma centers and thousands of individuals across over 40 countries. This global network reflects the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity, welcoming practitioners from various religions, races, and cultures to engage with Dzogchen teachings for the happiness of all beings.
The Foundation organizes a range of events and programs, including retreats, global prayer events, Dharma education events, and outreach initiatives like One Path Outreach, which provides healthcare, education, and basic necessities to remote villages in Eastern Tibet. These activities are designed to foster a vibrant community of practitioners and support the broader mission of the Foundation.
Dzogchen Retreat Centers
A pivotal aspect of the Foundation’s work is the establishment and support of Dzogchen Retreat Centers, such as the DRC in Eugene, Oregon, and the DRCE in lower Austria. These centers serve as sanctuaries for practitioners to engage deeply with the teachings, participate in traditional retreats, and train as teachers within the Dzogchen Buddha Path Lineage.
Engaging with the Foundation
Support for the Foundation’s work comes from a wide array of programs and initiatives, including the Circle of Compassion, which allows donors to contribute to the preservation of the Dzogchen Lineage. The Foundation encourages participation from those interested in supporting its mission through donations, volunteering, or engaging in its various programs aimed at promoting peace, understanding, and spiritual growth.
